Job Tracker for Locksmiths Paid by a Dispatch Company
Ron Reports is a job tracker for locksmiths who split their pay with a dispatch company. Paste the closing message from a lockout, rekey, or car key job and it works out your cut after parts and card fees, then checks the company's weekly report against your own jobs.
Why locksmith pay is hard to track
A locksmith week is a mix of very different tickets. A lockout might have no parts at all. A rekey uses pins and sometimes cylinders. A car key can carry a key blank or transponder that costs more than the labor. Many customers pay by card on the spot. Each of those changes your cut, and the dispatch company's weekly report lumps them all together.
| Job type | Parts usually on the ticket | What to double-check |
|---|---|---|
| Residential lockout | Usually none | The full amount you collected is on the report, including any after-hours rate |
| Rekey | Pins, sometimes cylinders | The parts deduction matches your receipt and appears once |
| Lock change or install | Locksets, deadbolts, smart locks | Parts are charged at the price your agreement says |
| Car key or transponder | Key blanks, transponder chips, remotes | With high parts cost, whether your split is on gross or net |
From closing message to your cut
Paste the closing message the way you already write it. For example:
Lockout + rekey 2 locks Paid 285 card Parts 32 (2 Kwikset cylinders) 1840 W Belmont Ave, Chicago IL
Example result, 40% split
- Paid (card)
- $285.00
- Parts
- −$32.00
- Net
- $253.00
- Your 40%
- $101.20
- Card fee, your reader (2.6% + 15¢)
- −$7.56
- Your cut
- $93.64
Ron Reports reads the amount, the parts, and that it was a card payment straight from the text, then applies your split and fees. A cash car key job with $240 paid and a $45 transponder blank works out to $78.00 at the same 40% split. Set your own split and card fees once in Settings and every job uses them.
Check the dispatch company's weekly report
At the end of the week, upload the company's report as a PDF or HTML file. Ron Reports matches every job by date, address, and amount and flags anything missing, paid below what you collected, or charged twice. For a step-by-step version you can do by hand, read how to check your dispatch company's weekly report.
Built by a field technician
Ron Reports was built by a technician who has worked in the field for years and knows the pain of finishing a job without knowing what you really made. It is made for the technician, not the dispatch company. Read why Ron Reports exists.

Frequently asked questions
Does Ron Reports work with my locksmith dispatch company's message format?
Yes. Paste the closing message the way you already send it. Ron Reports reads the amount paid, parts, and whether the customer paid cash or card, and when you are signed in it also reads the address. You can try it on the homepage without an account.
Can I track my own private locksmith jobs too?
Yes. Mark a job as Private and it is treated as 100% yours: parts come out of your cut and there is no company split. Company and private jobs show up separately in your earnings.
Will my dispatch company know I use Ron Reports?
No. Ron Reports does not connect to your dispatch company or notify it in any way. Your jobs and the reports you upload stay private to your account.
How does Ron Reports handle card payments on lockouts?
Mark the job as Card. If you run cards on your own reader, your processing fee comes out of your cut. If the company processes cards, switch to company card processing in Settings and the fee is taken from the net before the split.
How much does Ron Reports cost for a locksmith?
The free plan covers 40 jobs a month and one full report check. Pro is $19.99 a month for unlimited jobs and report checks, and the first month is free. You can cancel anytime.
